T his has got a groove that even Prince could envy. The single version runs a little tighter than the elpee (by about twenty seconds), though I haven’t done a side-by-side comparison yet. It remains one of my favorite songs from their Backward-and-onward phase. The seven-inch B side is a non-album track called “Keyboard Kids” that eventually wound up on one of their latter-day compilations. It’s a good song (sort of an update on the Remote Control theme) in line with the contemporary work of Utopia and Was (Not Was). Scads better than pretty much everything on Love Bomb anyway.
