T he most recognizable song from the opus Tommy. The way in which the vocals are handed off from the main singer to secondary figures (“How do you think he does it? / I don’t know / What makes him so good?”) is brilliant. The same device would be used to fine effect on Jesus Christ Superstar soon after. The B side is an instrumental credited to Keith Moon, who provides his usual over-the-top drumming and (presumably) supplies the “woofs” as well. If you die without hearing it, no harm done.
