O ne of the greatest songs ever written got a merciless hack-job here, butchering the eight-plus-minute original into bloody little bits that barely amount to three-and-a-half minutes. (I’m being awfully conscientious about those hyphens today.) Great song, buy the record (Who’s Next). The B side is some awfully good country-rock that reminds me of “Now I’m A Farmer.” It was later added to the 1995 MCA CD reissue. For more on the A side, visit Songfacts. Of minor interest, the A side is credited to The Motion Picture "Lifehouse," a project that never saw life.
