X
An early punk band with an interesting male/female dynamic between John Doe and Exene Cervenka. The first three X albums are acknowledged classics in the 80s punk canon, but with More Fun In The New World the band shifted toward raucous, roots-rock revival. Guitarist Billy Zoom left the group in the mid 80s and X soldiered on with the help of Dave Alvin. Doe, Cervenka, Alvin and X drummer DJ Bonebrake later formed The Knitters.
