T his herald for the “new” Yes has held up remarkably well over time. Trevor Horn’s production in particular proved prescient, anticipating the happy hybrid that technology and talent would yield. The single edit fades out a half-minute from the ending, shortly after Trevor Rabin’s guitar solo. On the promotional single, the elpee version is referred to as the “long version,” the single version as the “short version.” The official release featured “Our Song” on the flip side, the same version that would appear on 90125. It’s a great song (isn’t everything on that album when you look back at it?), with the rhythm section of Alan White and Chris Squire in top form. A dance mix of “Owner of a Lonely Heart” appeared on 12-inch releases, which I haven’t heard.
