Alright, she made Ringo Starr sound good. But Yoko is too intriguing an artist to dismiss out of hand. Her early albums with John were occasionally stunning (if sometimes for the wrong reasons), her solo work pioneering in its freedom with the feminine voice. Beginning with Double Fantasy, Yoko embarked on a pop-oriented path that produced a handful of singles which garnered interest in the club scene. She has been cited by musicians as an influential artist, though it's her life and art taken in their totality that I find most inspirational. In fact, it could be said that Yoko Ono is a woman who made her life a work of art. It's a mystery to me that Yoko has not produced more records by other artists over the years.
