The Breeders
Kim Deal, who kinda played the kooky foil in Pixies, formed The Breeders in 1990 with Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses) as a way for the pair to get their ideas out. When Pixies got nixed, Kim and sister Kelley (Tanya went Belly up) released Last Splash and had a surprise hit with "Cannonball." The group disbanded soon after, Kim Deal re-appeared in the short-lived Amps, and it was barren nothingness from The Breeders until Title TK in 2002.
