Dave Edmunds
A seminal figure in the pub rock movement, Edmunds left Love Sculpture ("Sabre Dance") and found immediate success with a quirky, claustrophobic version of "I Hear You Knocking." His affection for 50s rock and roll can be found in his solo albums (which typically mixed oldies with a healthy dose of original material) and his production work. Although associated with new wave, Edmunds is more of a rock & roll revivalist. In 1980, he appeared in the pub rock supergroup, Rockpile (named after his first solo album).
