Greg Lake
King Crimson's lead singer for their first two albums, then a cornerstone of ELP, there's no getting around Greg Lake. Unfortunately, his solo career has been less successful, generally no better and no worse than the similar-sounding John Wetton (who eventually succeeded Lake in Crimson). The eponymous Greg Lake (1981) and Manoeuvres (1983) featured guitarist Gary Moore (which was more or less their undoing). Thankfully, ELP re-formed in the 1990s and gave Lake a more suitable setting for his talents.
