Laurie Anderson
Poet. Player. Performance artist. Personality. United States put her on the map, "O Superman" made her a musical heroine. Her deadpan vocal delivery has grown into singing, her don't-call-them-songs have become just that these days, but her poetic sensibilities and sense of humor remain as sharp as ever. Big Science is her best: required listening for anyone who's ever dropped the words "Kafkaesque" or "Felliniesque" in conversation. For a (probably not because these things never are) complete discography of her recorded works, view the PDF file.
