T his song almost single-handedly atones for the horrible things Messrs. Langer and Winstanley did to Elvis Costello. It’s also perhaps the best thing Madness ever committed to vinyl (it’s been a while since I’ve heard Absolutely, so I could be wrong on that point). A playful video cemented the song’s appeal, making it the band’s biggest hit in the US. The B side is “Cardiac Arrest,” which was an earlier hit for the band, making the US single a twofer. In the UK, the flip side was the nonalbum “Walking With Mr. Wheeze” which later appeared on the compilation It’s Madness Too.
