Pantera
It's "panther" in Spanish, which would be soooo gay if they weren't soooo awesome. Vulgar Display of Power is a high-water mark in the thrash metal movement. Far Beyond Driven was bleaker, darker and then I got distracted or civilized or something and stopped paying attention. Their music and the circumstances surrounding it are the stuff of legend, though a happy ending was never in it.
