T he second single from Paul’s popular Tug of War. “Take It Away” ingratiated itself into the hearts (and charts) of many with its patented PM magic, heir to the hoary crown of pop classics worn by “Another Day,” “Silly Love Songs” and “Londontown” (not to mention 10cc’s own “I’m Not In Love”). “I’ll Give You A Ring” is a nonalbum track that suggests Queen at rest, leaning on music hall and May’s liquid guitar licks but lightly. It’s not a bad track at all, humble but not without charm, and worth a few bucks as a flyer. The 12-inch adds the album track, “Dress Me Up As A Robber.”
