The purposeful, contained energy of “The Big Money” was the latest in a line of great album openers from Rush, reminding many of Signals’ “Subdivisions.” In the US, a live version of “Red Sector A” from the brooding Grace Under Pressure appeared on the flip side. This live version didn’t appear on an album, but it’s not a hotly sought collectible: Rush offered a live version on A Show of Hands, and just how many live versions of “Red Sector A” do you really need? There are apparently alternate versions of the US and UK singles featuring “Middletown Dreams” as the flip side; I’ve only seen the regular UK versions with “Territories” on the back. A double 7-inch release was also issued in the UK that added classics “Closer to the Heart” and “The Spirit fo Radio” to the party. Note that in all cases the A side is identical to the version on Power Windows, as is the artwork.
