Slivovitz
Named after the plum brandy, this Italian fusion collective plumbs a range of jazz idioms and features some interesting instrumentation: voice, violin, harmonica and horns among them. Seven candles fluttering in the jazz crosswinds of past (fusion) and present (world), at least on Hubris, occasionally inflamed by displaced traces of middle eastern spices. Bani Ahead swapped out a couple of candles and felt more like The Grand Wazoo's Watercolors with a pronounced Balkan flavor this time.
