K ronomyth 3.1, Mister Mystic. Two-and-a-half minutes of mediocrity from the mercurial, marble-mouthed Morrison slipped into the Top 40 because no one was watching the helm. Better by far is the B side, “Crazy Love,” which served as a hidden surprise here since someone thought enough of “Come Running” to run the same label on both sides (it was made in Canada, if that explains anything). How they held off on “Domino” is the real mystery, as it’s plainly superior to “Come Running.” Honestly, the Van Morrison singles are hit or miss and often not the best gauge of his depth, as this one illustrates. Stick with the album and tell this single to go packing.
