The rolo mcginty-led woodentops have been called many things (jangle pop, stripped-down acoustic pop, manic) which if swirled together might give you some idea of what to expect. Their songs have the swift acoustic shuffle of the smiths, the paranoid pulse of the the, and the kitchen-sink strangeness of julian cope. However, critical acclaim never equated to commercial success, and the woodentops went back into the bin after four (too) short years.
